Pollutopia Bottom-feeder/Troll/Zardoz - Watercolors

1. Pollutopian Bottom-feeder - Watercolor, April 2012

2. Pollutopian Politician-eating Troll - Watercolor, April 2012

3. Pollutopian Zardoz (Great Head) - Watercolor April, 2012
Three more additions to Pollutopia. The Bottom-feeder is a giant creature that sits on the ocean floor of Pollutopia eating plastic and consuming various smaller creatures. The Troll roams the islands of Pollutopia searching for politicians to eat while the giant floating Zardoz head hovers above.

Pollutopian Tongue-twisted Seahorse - Pollutopia, Watercolor

This watercolor is a good example of the kind of color scheme I am shooting for with Pollutopia. In my sketches I have a kind of organic mess for many of the bodies but I haven't been able to translate that into watercolor very well. I think having most of the color packed into the body makes the white wings really pop as well.

Pollutopia - Watercolours

1. Dagonian Bottom-feeder - Pollutopia, March 2012

2. Blue-eyed Cruncher Fish - Pollutopia, March 2012

3. Bowie Fish - Pollutopia, March 2012

4. Blue-winged Sage Fisher - Pollutopia, March 2012

A few more watercolours for Pollutopia. I'm still in the process of working out the colour scheme but getting a better sense of how I want the the creatures and the environment to be. Just going to keep experimenting and learning about the medium.

Pollutopian False-faced Jelly-fisher - Water colour

This scan is a little different from the original as some of the subtle colours didn't really show up. Another Pollutopian creature, part of the Jelly-fisher breed it has a false body it wears like a hat to lure in prey which then get snagged on the many hooks hanging from it's false body and flower tail below.

Pollutopia Ark - Pollutopia,
I wasn't sure what to call this one so I just decided to leave it as 'Pollutopia'. Part of the on-going series, I'm trying to develop the kind of scenes you will see in Pollutopia and I'm still working on colour-schemes. These characters are all related being that they were all born on the same page of my sketch pad. Bacchus makes a little appearance in the top right corner and I didn't add too much colour to him to separate him from the rest. He is the observer. I don't have names for any of the rest of them except the Pollutopian Floating Mine which is the Earth-like orb in the botton-right corner with tentacles sticking out.

Emma's Owl,
I made this for my sister's birthday. She mentioned she likes owls so this was my best shot in one attempt. Hadn't used water colour for a while but I enjoyed it a lot and I have begun making more.

Pollutopia Arc - Mantra 01 (PEBBLES), Acrylic on Canvas

While flicking through some of my wife's science books I discovered the outline of this image and felt compelled to fill in some of the circles with Pollutopian colors. I think it was a biology book and I forget what the diagram was actually of. Because I am still developing the color scheme for Pollutopia, it was nice to create a very simple painting with the main colors I have been using all together.
